  • New Nintendo Switch has a die-shrunk Tegra X1



    From a recent teardown video, it looks like that Nintendo is using a die-shrunk version of their Tegra X1 chip to extend the battery life.




    Old Tegra X1 chip (20 nm, ODNX02-A2, 4x A53, 4x A57, 256 Maxwell CUDA cores at 307 to 768 MHz):








     




     




    New Nintendo Switch chip (ODNX10-A1):








    The die doesn't look shrunk too much, it's most likely a 16 nm or 14 nm process to save costs.
