  • NVIDIA moves to Samsung EUV 7nm from TSMC for 1H2020 GPU launch

I'm here more focused on the moving from TSMC to Samsung fabs part then the (quite likely) confirmed rumor of the GPU launch.

I think this move could greatly benefit both NVIDIA and AMD.  Simply put. Seeing the volume AMD is putting out with Ryzen which should only increase in the mid-term. Seeing as their both GPUs and CPUs are on 7nm with a plan to move the next year CPU to 7nm+.  Capacity wise together with apple this looks like a sound move.

    Intro from the original article:

    Quote

"Ladies and gents, we have our third confirmation of NVIDIA’s Ampere-based graphics card launching in 2020. While we previously knew they were going to launch in 2020, we didn’t know which half and thanks to the report by Igor’s Lab we know it’s going to be sooner rather than later. Leaked EEC certification and a report by Taiwan’s top tech publication, Digitimes, puts the Ampere graphics card on Samsung’s 7nm node and will represent a significant performance upgrade over Turing counterparts."

    • Nationwide ban of Galaxy S10 Fingerprint Reader - fingerprint log in removed from banking app
      by Dudicrous
Related to the recent security flaw found with the Galaxy S/Note 10 series, which you can read more about below

Banks in the UK have decided that the flaw with the fingerprint reader is too much of a compromise for its customers and have started removing the fingerprint option for the app.

At the moment it's just Nationwide and Natwest that have done so, but I wouldn't be surprised if others followed suit.

      by Dudicrous
The Intel Xe GPU represents Intel’s first foray into discrete graphics since the ill-fated Larrabee project many years ago. But let’s not dwell on the past, this is a bright new future for Intel, and potentially PC gamers too, as it means we’re going to have a genuine third player in the graphics market and that can only be a good thing. For us, at least.
      • It looks likely that the initial Xe GPUs will largely be based on the building blocks put in place by the Ice Lake Gen11 graphics architect

Verizon on Friday announced that its 5G network is now available in three NBA arenas and is coming to seven more by the end of the 2019-2020 basketball season. But there's a big caveat, just like there is with Verizon's 5G coverage in NFL stadiums: Verizon 5G only covers some of the seating areas.

TeamSpeak, one of the most popular voice communication apps for gaming before Discord came along and took over the world, is returning with a new look. The team behind the software has kicked off a closed beta for a completely new application that does away with the old school setup for something that will obviously be compared to what Discord offers.

The admission comes following rumors that the company had been breached. It first emerged that NordVPN had an expired internal private key exposed, potentially allowing anyone to spin out their own servers imitating NordVPN.
